Once upon a time, there lived a poor little girl in the dirty streets of the human world. With her parents gone and her having to survive alone, she became strong and stiff. As the little girl grew older, she learned dark secret of heart-break, forever sealing her heart in a wall of steel. From that day forward she decided never to want to love again. With her heart set, she became one of the best thieves around, cold-hearted and smart. She went by the code name "Nightstrike". Nobody knew who this thief was, or how to stop them. She was as fast as lightning and left without a trace when morning came. However, one day she was finally caged. Her jail was those crystal green eyes and light blonde hair. With one flash of that dazzling smile she bowed down, her steel heart broken by the man. The man was captivated by this poor little thief and his heart fell for her. The two ran off together, never wanting to stop staring into each other's love struck eyes, and not caring about the world. The girl forever knew that he was only hers and he knew that she was only his. Then they lived happily ever after. Except, that's not how the story went. That 'happily ever after' never happened. Adrenaline pumped in my veins as I pressed myself against the large tree trunk, hoping the darkness would conceal me from my impending doom. My heart hammered against my ribs and cold sweat gathered at my palms and chest. His armor clanked and clinked, scraping against itself as he grew closer and closer... Then silence. "Come out little rabbit." The voice was deep and menacing, and I would've soiled myself right there if I were any younger. I couldn't see very well, but I could see what little moonlight that filtered through the trees reflected off a pale face. His gaze was like a hungry, crazed wolf hunting its prey. "Found you." *** Roselena is satisfied with helping her father run his printing business in her childhood village, but in the face of kingdom rising against kingdom, she finds herself thrown into a world of political tensions, magical beings, and the plot of a God. She struggles to define who she is, what she believes, and who she can trust. Worst of all, she seems to have been snared by a cruel King who can't seem to leave her alone. In a world going up in flames, Roselena can only hope to find mercy amongst the burning fire. Warning: Themes of SA, religion, human sacrifice, gore, and some explicit language. "Upstairs!" I hear a yell and pounding footsteps. I crawl out of the window until I'm hanging from my hands. I take a breath. I let go. ~ Living in a small town with a single mother, Mia Glenn never expected anything special to come of her life. She never thought she would go on an adventure as harrowing as the stories she read. Until one day she narrowly avoids being kidnapped, discovering in the same day a whole new universe that she is supposedly a part of. As she navigates the elven world of Earthe with the help of a particularly attractive elf boy, she learns secrets about her identity and her father's, of whom she believed had ditched her and her mom at an early age. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it. Safe to say she finds herself in one hell of an adventure. - - TW: if you need a tw for fighting, violence, weapons, blood, death, etc. I would read with caution (I don't get into any gory details, but there are scenes w/ this) I will put tw's for the more violent scenes.Terminé
