In a land infested with creatures of the night, stood the mighty capital of Knobel; Vassuryn. Alongside the capital stood 4 districts bordering it; Thalass, Anwar, Evergreen, and Valor. All of them were vigorous, rich, and prospered together with a promise to protect one another, shall a foreign force intercept them of their greatness. All of them had strong armies and a dark force unlike any other. They were ruled and overseen by vampires.

Humans have succumbed to the vampires and agreed to live under their world with the exception that the vampires would protect them, which they have been doing so successfully within the last thousands of years. Terms and conditions were communicated and the humans signed away their identities. The humans believed that all would be good and that the enemy would fear placing their hands on them. However, there was a price to this. The royal family needs human blood to survive and to fight off the enemy, thus began the selection of the sacrifices.

Every 20 years, a virgin lady from 10 selected households from each district will go into the castle and from there, the royalties will pick 5 and choose who they want to stand with them for the next 20 years until the duty they've performed has been completed. The humans see this as honorable, something that brings prosperity and wealth into their home, as for after the girls return from the castle, they bring home enough fortune to feed their families and those yet to come.

This year reaches the 20th year of the last selection. The royal family is on the lookout for their next meals.
