"What kind of story would you like to hear today?" I asked as you walked in.
"Tell me something real." You replied, much to my surprise. I tilted my head at you.
"You like fantasy so much, though, don't you?" I asked.
"Yes of course," you said. "I just don't want to become the next record keeper and only know fairy tales."
"Oh, right. Of course..." I said, smiling and letting my mind wander back. Now what would be a good tale to- "Ah ha!" I exclaimed. "I'll tell you the story of my... Let's see... Well it wouldn't be right to classify as their friend... More of acquaintance..." I said. I looked at you. You knew what words were coming, but you still waited for me to say them, for you did like them.
"Now sit down, little one. I'm going to tell you a story."

Queen Sahara of the SandWings paced anxiously in her opulent palace, the scorching heat of the desert sun beating down on the golden dunes outside. As the ruler of her mighty kingdom, she had grown accustomed to the solitude and tranquility of her desert oasis. However, on this particular day, her serene existence was about to be shattered. In the midst of her thoughts, Blaze, one of her trusted servants, burst into the grand hall, his wings flared with urgency. "Your Majesty! The SandWing army has captured a royal SeaWing!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and confusion. Sahara's black eyes narrowed as she studied Blaze's nervous expression. "Who is it?" she questioned, her voice laced with curiosity and concern. Though the SandWings were fierce and proud, they seldom ventured beyond their desert borders, let alone captured dragons from other tribes. Blaze struggled to catch her breath, her scales shimmering with perspiration. Baffled, Queen Sahara contemplated Blaze's words. SeaWings, known for their mastery over the ocean depths, were not creatures to be easily captured. Yet here was a seemingly important SeaWing caught in the clutches of her warriors. She needed to see this for herself. Without wasting a moment, Blaze nodded and darted towards the massive stronghold doors. Queen Sahara followed closely behind, her heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. As they neared the stronghold, the rumbling echoes of distant voices filled the desert air. The stronghold, a formidable fortress made from hardened sandstone, loomed before them. With Blaze leading the way, Queen Sahara stepped into the dimly lit chamber, her eyes adjusting to the limited light. What she saw before her left her utterly stunned. In the center of the room, surrounded by her warriors, stood a magnificent SeaWing, his scales shimmering with iridescent blues and greens. Despite the evident signs of struggle, he appeared poised and noble, a true king.

Decades of wars and unrest have clawed at the sides of Pyrrhia's dragons for as long as they can remember, and the tales of true peace and dragonets of prophecy are simply whispers of the past. Shrike has never been regarded by his tribe as a real SkyWing. His mother fell ill and passed away when he was a dragonet, and his father, a royal SeaWing, was executed by his dictatorial queen as soon as it was found out that he'd had an affair with a common SkyWing. Still, Shrike remains tethered to the Queen and his tribe. Years of lost wars, unfulfilled treaties, and an excessively lavish lifestyle lived by their ruler, Queen Markhor, have left the SkyWing tribe impoverished and starving, and Shrike, the princess's personal bodyguard, has witnessed the consequences of the Queen's ignorance firsthand. A diplomacy meeting with the SeaWings gone wrong erupts in yet another bloody war, and Shrike is swept up in battle before finding himself caught in between the jaws of the political turmoil that seem to be tearing his tribe apart from the inside out. To make matters worse, a warning delivered years before by the continentally renowned prophet, Hereafter, is unraveling before Shrike's eyes, and its exhortations seem like an echo chamber awfully reminiscent of his own life. That coupled with a newfound power in his claws leaves him spiraling and wondering one question: could 𝘩𝘦 be the terror of talons? ✦ Please read the introductory pages! They will be EXTREMELY informative for understanding the basics of Pyrrhia's situation and the timeline leading up to this story. Consider leaving a vote if you enjoy this story! Constructive criticism and other comments are always welcome.

He suddenly discovers that he has no respect, no friends, and no hope. Eventually, Chameleon is exiled for one simple reason: He is different from everyone else. And then the RainWings do something that Chameleon would never forgive them for. Brimming with fury, Chameleon sets out to prove everyone that indeed he is different- but better than them all. But nothing could prepare Chameleon for what he discovers out in the wilds of Pyrrhia- something so influential that not even Chameleon himself could grasp the true power of it. Now he discovers he has a chance of rewriting his identity, his history, and his future. At last, Chameleon has the potential to make a difference... but what will this scarred, bitter dragon do with his newfound power? _____________________________________________________________ Chameleon ran over to Moss, who was crying, her wings askew. "Did you kill them?" he whispered to Moss. Moss looked up at Chameleon, her eyes glistening with tears. "No," she choked. "You know I wouldn't. That monster- Jaguar- pinned it on me. I promise, Chameleon. I didn't kill anyone. Why are they blaming it on us? What did we do?" "I have an idea," said Chameleon quietly, dangerously. He hissed. "Being different. That's what happened." He drew himself up and curled his claws in. "Trust me, Moss, I will get my revenge." Because no one should be punished for being different. _____________________________ [DISCONTINUED BOOK]

They're here. Who's here? "See for yourself. Stay low." I whispered. The two dragons snuck up alongside me, but I sensed Moon and Qibli with her. I heard a soft gasp as Moon got her first look at the enemy. "They look so small." "And what are those things in the water?" Qibli asked. "Ships. Supply ships." I gravely said. "They're probably establishing a beachhead to prepare for operations here." "Operations?" I turned over to face Qibli. "To prepare for war, SandWing. These people are here for war." A squad of 101st Airborne, bound for Japan after VE Day, are suddenly and mysteriously wrecked in Pyrrhia, a land of dragons and adventure. Do they have what it takes to survive and get home? What new and strange rules are to be found in this place? Are they able to face down a traitor in their midst? Or will they drag the war to the peaceful inhabitants of this new place, so that it truly engulfs all worlds? Follow Lieutenant Marvin with his ragtag squad of men; and Moonwatcher, a Nightwing with mind-reading and precognition abilities, in the first installment of the Wings of Honor series! This story takes place after the 3rd arc, and has spoilers for the 2nd arc (books 6-10). I wrote this before the end of the 3rd arc, and have therefore taken some artistic liberties. I did not read any of the arc 3 books when I wrote this, I only gathered information from the WOF Wiki. I do not claim ownership of the Wings of Fire book series by Tui T. Sutherland and Scholastic. This is a fan fiction series. Part 1 of 6 of the Wings of Honor Series.
