Emiko Hayashi. Kakashi Hatake. -Modern A.U-
"Don't go around saying things you don't mean Kakashi" Emiko glared at said man who smirked back at her. It was very obvious even underneath the mask.
"I do mean it Emiko, you and I.. we are sort of just meant to be" He said making her roll her eyes.

The bandages that covered his face in life have fallen away, all incinerated and hanging loosely around his neck. His face is completely destroyed. Unrecognizable. The skin covering his face is no longer there, all having melted away. His blood vessels have all burst, his nerves have fried along with the majority of his muscles. His jaw opens and closes a little bit. His eyes bore into me. They're large and round and completely accusing. His teeth are covered in bits of burnt muscle. I feel my heart thudding in my chest. He steps closer, closer. His bone gleams in the dim light. As he closes in on me, a pounding noise begins ringing through my ears. My heart beat- ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. It looked like he had been tossed into a fryer, fried alive, and he had been. By me. I did this to someone. I killed someone's team mate, someone's son. I killed someone's important person. -- Kimiko Kioku, a memory keeper. Never forgets anything, always notices, from the exact way the wind blew her hair against her face to coloring with her brother at five to the lullaby her mother would sing to her as she rocked her when she was not even a year old. She remembers. She remembers the blood, the glassy, clouded over eyes her brother had as he said his last words. She remembers the very first person she killed. She remembers how abandoned she feels, and how everything always feels like it's falling apart at the seams. (Can you say 'worst summary ever to exist'? Okay, maybe not that bad. But still pretty bad.)

(discontinued) In the Shinobi World, a scarce amount of humans believe in the existence of yōkai. Hatake Kakashi is not one of them. However, he isn't exactly the type to bluntly state that they don't exist. After all, a world wherein peace is not a word that can easily be understood is a world with a whole lot more mysteries and therefore, also cannot be understood. During a mission in the Land of Iron, Kakashi, Obito, Rin and Minato find themselves crossing paths with a girl no more than two years younger than the three children. Unexpectedly, the bizarre and cruel weather hasn't killed her yet. It is no surprise that this young girl named Setsuko arrives in The Village Hidden in the Leaves with Team Minato and surprises even the Third Hokage with her long black hair, dark blue eyes, a ghostly white-- almost transparent complexion and a kimono of the same color as snow. Of course, no one really believes that Setsuko could actually be what she could be suspected of being: A Yuki-musume. But in a world where mysteries are meant to be kept, how can anyone say that the ethereal races of the yōkai are non-existent? As Rin, Obito and Kakashi teach her about everything there is to know about living in the village, the silver-haired young boy finds himself intrigued by basically everything relating to Setsuko. Although, with all of the fear Setsuko has always bottled up inside of her, it would sound much easier to befriend her than to actually be able to do it.

"I thought you knew from the start." "What?" He asks with certain coldness lingering in his tone. "That I'd never leave you." I let out a soft chuckle at my own words before continuing,"I mean, how could I? When my heart is so attached to you." My words are met with silence making my lips turn into a thin line. "Why?" The absurdity of the question makes me look at the person sitting beside me. Only for our eyes to meet. His onyx coloured eyes stared back at me. His expression was as stoic as ever. I let my head shake slightly at his dumbness. "You understood me in a way no one else ever did." "What if I can't offer you that understanding anymore?" He asks with an arched brow. His question made me turn my gaze back to my hands that laid in my lap. I fiddled with my fingers for some moments. "It doesn't matter." I continue, "you understood me back then, that's enough for me." ----- A rouge ninja, a S rank criminal, a man who killed his clan. A man despised by all the villagers. A man whom she just couldn't hate. Kazumi Himura who couldn't just give up on her friend. Who just couldn't believe in what everyone else said. Would she be able to find out the truth and be able to do anything for her friend? Would she fail as a friend or would she make him believe in the good that's left in the world? Would she be able to convince him of all the goodness he deserves? Read Intertwined Fates to find out! None of the characters belong to me expect the OC!

12 parts Complete

Years before Team 7 was formed, Hatake Kakashi was a member of ANBU. During this time he found it hard to find pleasure in anything, the faces of his dead friends haunting his every moment. It was this that caused him to begin to draw a line between himself and those surrounding him. Sometimes, however, lines drawn are crossed by the most unlikely of people. She has no name, nor does she have a past. She simply exists to follow what others tell her to do and to be passed from person to person under the orders of a man that she'd rather have nothing to do with. She doesn't talk- there is no need for it. It's not required for someone to speak when they follow orders. One day, however, the existance she's known is shattered as a white-haired ANBU shinobi shows up, under orders to bring her back to Konoha. For the first time in her life, she feels curious. Curiosity leads to pushing against this stranger's boundaries and seeing just how much one, small existance crossing a line can change the lives around them. **Prequel to Painless** **Cover made by Arctic_Sky**
