Ariadne survived the apocalypse that man created, and now she suffers the consequences. Very little humanity survived, and now she must find the very few that retained their humanity to defeat the things.
Icarus regretfully survived, despite his best efforts. It seems the world is insistent on keeping him alive, though he doesn't know why. He jumped in front of one of those things, and yet he was saved, at the cost of a life that was not his own. He now strives for revenge.
