Livir the Shadowcleaver...

According to the myth, it would have been she who created and spread the light of the stars in the known universe of the Thousand Worlds, even before it was called that.

In their Age, she represented for some a symbol of rebirth and hope against adversity.

But you don't know who or what Livir is, nor 'her' story or the significance for the protagonists of 'this' story.

It's not very important for the plot. At least, not for now.

But there is a specific reason we are talking about her. Livir was an ancient goddess. She was, because many have forgotten her existence.

Just as they have forgotten many other things about the greatest civilization of all time. A piece of mosaic that shattered a long time ago.

It's the classic tale of humans, humanoids, other thinking beings, magic, and great powers repeating itself.

But this time, on a much larger scale.

Much, much larger.

For now, it's enough for you to know that, at the end of a long stellar middle ages, sentient beings of all kinds wanted to reestablish contact with that distant past that had been lost. To Rediscover it, to Understand it.

For this purpose, the Seekers were born.

And it's from here that 'our' story can begin.

The Aeon of Dragons: A Tale of Epic Fantasy & Sci-fi by MikoVesper
8 parts Ongoing Mature
Eighty thousand years into the future, Earth is no more. This world is now called Lokar-a realm of strangeness, where humans struggle to survive alongside elves, orcs, goblins, vampires, merfolk, and dragons. Born from the genetic-engineering science of our present age, these species now fight to rule a world of sword and sorcery, war and blood. But Lokar's story is more than this. In orbit, the Sky People dwell-a breakaway civilization from humanity's forgotten past. Mythical and unseen, save for the drifting lights of their stations in the night sky, their name is whispered in reverence and fear. To most, they are only a legend. Until the sky falls. When a steel ship crashes onto Lokar, myth becomes reality. From the wreckage emerges Morse, a girl named with fire-orange eyes, bearing secrets as ancient as Lokar itself. Drawn by adventure, a young Lokari named Jason must join forces with this enigmatic fire-eyed girl to uncover the mysteries of their intertwined pasts and face a destiny neither could have imagined. The fate of Lokar and the stars hangs by a thread. As the veil between legend and history tears away, a truth long buried will rise to shape a future yet unwritten. These secrets have been whispered for millennia. Now, Lokar must listen. ------- Note: I publish a chapter 3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I also do all of my own art, which you can see in each chapter. If you'd like to see more art, especially the stuff I can't publish here (*wink wink*), you can find that on my Patreon. I believe in world-building and rich characters. I also believe in big ideas. There is a bit of steamy interaction between the characters, but it's not the main focus!
Our Reluctant Caretaker by Kay_Gilbert
1 part Complete
"We don't have a Caretaker. We have a Creationeer. And we love her." ~Humanity. We think we're from here, but are we really? What happened to us before then, and who was involved? Kit - a young B-Tier Creationeer - didn't want this job. She's not trained to be an Intelligent Species Caretaker, and yet she's forced to care for the last remnants of a damaged and traumatized humanity by an old, malicious evil. After carrying us around in a modified to-go habitat bubble for 18K years, Kit wants a vacation, but is hesitant to leave us alone on our new planet she built; Earth. She confides in Pan - an A-Tier Caretaker and Kit's best friend and roommate. She reveals the full story of how she came to be in possession of us and why she can't hand us over to a licensed Caretaker. Pan reveals the tragic truth of the first 10 years of our existence before Kit found us. The new knowledge Ignites a fire in both. So the two young Ethereals come up with another plan that involves the three grad school roommates, Pan, Sid, and Kit, taking us on a long road trip to the Andromeda galaxy for some good old fashioned revenge- justice. And also Screw Jim. (warning: Contains strong language.) Please comment and vote. :) I'd really appreciate it. ^_^ (This idea was born from the second I saw a photo of Earth from orbit showing the glow of our atmosphere and thought, "Haha! We live on a bubble planet." :) ) NOTE: They're not gods. This is not theology. They don't have all the answers, they're not all powerful, and they can't do everything. They're closest equivalent in a fandom would be like lesser cousins to the Q. In this AU, Humanity knows about Kit. They don't deify her. To them, Kit's presence is normal, tangible, and real. She's always been there.

One fateful day, a powerful entity known as Malrex, the dark lord of shadows, emerged from the depths of the universe. With his army of demons and dragons, he laid waste to entire planets and sought to plunge the galaxy into darkness. The leader of the Knights, Sir Galadrim, a mighty warrior with a heart of gold, knew that they were facing a threat unlike any they had ever encountered before. He gathered his comrades to discuss a plan to defeat Malrex and save their world from certain destruction. As they ventured into the unknown realms of space, they encountered strange and mysterious beings, some friendly and others hostile. Along the way, they discovered ancient artifacts and powerful relics that would aid them in their quest. But as the battles raged on and the stakes grew higher, Sir Galadrim began to doubt if they could truly defeat Malrex and his dark forces. He knew that sacrifices would have to be made and that the fate of the galaxy rested on their shoulders. In the final showdown with Malrex, the Knights fought with all their might, unleashing their inner powers and strength. With the help of unexpected allies and a stroke of luck, they managed to defeat the dark lord once and for all. As peace returned to the galaxy, Sir Galadrim realized that their victory had come at a great cost. Many lives were lost, and the scars of battle would never truly heal. But he knew that as long as there were heroes like the Knights of Haven, the galaxy would always have hope in the face of darkness. The Barrowland Slayers

21 parts Complete Mature

[Wattys 2022 Shortlist] The Elven battlemage Gynefra Caul-Marrel has fought many foes over her two centuries. Humans have proven the most obstinate, yet they have forgotten the lessons that led to the War of the Great Coalition. That short-lived race has now spread into the shattered former battlefields of that conflict, building villages atop barrows of ancient dead, toiling away in mines better left abandoned. When a plague spreads through their lands, she is dispatched by the Watchful Tower to investigate. The horrors are much worse than she'd imagined. An unholy alliance has formed in the depths below, which threatens to tear apart the fragile order that's existed since the War of the Great Coalition. It's not enough to simply fight-the Great Evil they face requires a unified defense from every realm. Yet even saving human refugees isn't enough to dampen the paranoia of the Inquisition. The grievances between Elves and humanity have been built over millennia and seem impossible to mend. Yet if they cannot succeed, kingdom by kingdom will fall, until the mortal world is swept clean. Under Gynefra's leadership, a new War of the Great Coalition must be waged-yet this time united in struggle against the Twisted One, who threatens to devour their realms.
