She told herself it was simply the light reflecting off the snow in a peculiar way. That it couldn’t possibly be true. She told herself this as she walked the thirty minutes to her apartment and as she showered. She told herself this as she climbed the stairs to the flat roof of the apartment building, as she did every evening. But as she lay on her back, staring at the stars and the place she once called home, she couldn’t deny the fact any longer. She knew it was true; she felt it within the deepest corners of what was left of her broken soul.

She’d seen Jordan’s wings.

Jade Hillcrest is an angel. But she did something terrible, something worthy of a punishment worse than death. SHe had her wings torn off and she was thrown to earth to live a depressing life as the First to Fall. Nothing, no one could ever make her feel alive again.

But Jade does find something, someone. Jordan Knight is also an angel, sent to earth to observe Jade and ensure she never recovers from the Darkness. But when he makes a fatal mistake and suffers the Tearing as well, it sparks something in Jade that pushes her to take action against the officials who took her most precious possession from her.

And so begins the uprising.

She whispered inside her breath, " Oh.. my god... magic!?...." Her chuckles transformed into joyous laughter. She found her power without anyone's help. She started to move her wrists for a rhythm, humming her favourite tunes of 'Coldplay'. The sparks from her hands kept glowing, brighter and brighter with her happiness. She spun around, unable to contain her happiness and excitement. The magical sparks following her hands. She layed on the grass, with her arms open. The dew drops damping her back. Lillian Bell never believed in angels. She never believed in fate, either. But the night a man with broken wings falls from the sky and crashes into her life, bleeding and barely conscious, everything she thought she knew shatters. He calls himself Azrael. A name spoken like a curse, heavy with the weight of something ancient and unforgivable. His body is marked with celestial wounds, his silver eyes burn with secrets, and his very presence makes the air hum with something dangerous. Lillian knows she should walk away. She should never have brought him home. But she does. And with that one reckless decision, she finds herself thrown into a world she was never meant to see-a world where angels and demons walk among mortals, where Heaven is just as ruthless as Hell, and where the man she saved is being hunted by forces that could tear the world apart. Azrael isn't just any fallen angel. He was once the Angel of Death. And he is still dangerous. Because the longer he stays, the thinner the line between salvation and damnation becomes. For both of them. And when the truth about Azrael's past is finally revealed-along with the reason Lillian has always felt like something was missing inside her-she will have to make an impossible choice. Save him. Or let him go before their love destroys them both.
