••• Oh yeah, I think I forgot to mention, some of us humans are "gifted" as we like to say, in short, we have powers, well most of us do, anyway, powers that only show themselves when we turn 18. That's why an eighteenth birthday is such a big deal. Please note, that our powers come in all shapes and sizes. From elemental magic, to mind control, mind reading, time traveling, and even shapeshifting, and many, many, more. Even though some humans don't get powers, it's still better than getting what is known as The Soulmate Gift. What is it? You may be asking yourself. Well... It's when you can see what your soulmate sees and when you can talk to them mind to mind. Why is this such a bad thing? It only appears when one of the pair is in danger or is about to marry or spend their lives with someone other than their soulmate. So yeah, heartbreak is definitely present in the equation. And yes, you've guessed it, I, Amelie Diamandis, have the Soulmate Gift. And the fire gift. Which should be impossible. Isn't that just great? Oh, and my soulmate wants nothing to do with me....I think? ••• For as long as humans could remember you either got one gift or nothing, it's impossible to have two or more. A human with more than one power has been unheard of. Until today. When two people, destined since birth, break history with powers destined for destruction and a destiny that none can fathom. ____ THIS IS A FIRST DRAFT #167 in magic out of 270K 2021-12-05 #6 in high fantasy 2021-12-06 #21 in meant to be 2020-07-10 #43 in epic fantasy 2020-07-10 #31 in gift 2020-07-10 #31 in mate bond 2020-05-06 #58 in loneliness out of 12K 2021-12-02 ____ This story contains mature subject matter such as violence, reader's discretion is advised. ___ I couldn't find the artist that made the girl on the cover, if you know who it is please send me a message so I can credit them :)

Shelland Conall has always believed herself to be ordinary, and she's never had reason to suspect otherwise. Not until an enigmatic stranger seems to show up at every corner, and he's claiming to be the one that saved her life. Thing is, Shelland doesn't remember her life ever endangered. But Beck, this charming boy with eyes like ice, is relentless and comes bearing an unthinkable truth: that someone close to her has been poisoning her. It's not just any type of poison either, but a magic suppressant disguised as an everyday pill, and it's crafted to keep something buried inside of her. Struggling to read between the lies, Shelland must act fast on who to trust, but how can she trust anyone when she can't even trust her own memories? And the more she learns about Beck's supernatural life, the farther she will fall into his bloody world of magic that she never knew existed.
