This is the brainstorm process of a poem I have to write for English on Sirens (from Greek mythology) and since I was having a bit of trouble choosing between drafts and such, I figured I'd see what other people thought. the poem can only be 20 lines long, so reading it won't take to much time. and, some of the drafts are pretty good!

The Siren's Call
➖After her mother's death, seventeen year old Karis tries to drown herself and is mysteriously saved by a boy who assumed she was unconscious. But some things he says don't add up, and he realizes the consequences of his actions, since saving drowning humans is against the law. So he gives her two choices: Never speak a word of what happened and go back to whatever life she despised so much, Or Come with him to an underwater city she never thought existed. After choosing the latter in a risky gamble, both her and the boy might be in for more than they bargained for when they discover the city is under attack. Will they be able to save it and the people in it in time, or will following the boy be a big mistake? The Battle Of The Underworld Monarchy
3000 years ago, the dark age was at a peak of villainy. Humans did not rule. The Underworld did. A collection of monarchs and dynasty's ruled the world. When the heir to the most powerful monarch, the reaper dynasty, the monarch that rules over all others -Athena Vel-Degaray's - Life is in grave danger for various reasons, her mother - the queen- sends her to be protected by the vampire king. Little does he know, she doesn't need his protection. Everyone else needs protection from her. Her mother is a tyrant. A stain to the Reaper legacy. She plans to overthrow her and claim her birthright that her mother denied her. With the help of 'The Fyre" a rebellion she started she will take her crown, no matter the cost. Even if that cost is her soul, anything is better than her mother ruling. Her strong moral compass and values might just be her undoing... Or will that be what is sacrificed? Captive of the Sea
Those who were taken... They never came back, dragged beneath the waves never to return. Their haunting screams were a symbol of their horrific deaths. Like shadows they lay in wait, the deep blue waters hiding them from view. With sharp claws they attack, Pointed fangs tearing into skin, Eager mouths devouring human flesh. Cally was taken, dragged under the water by one of the vicious creatures. But she was not devoured nor torn apart by ruthless claws--no. She was a captive. ~•~ Water instantly invades her senses. Her eyes sting, her lungs and nose burning. She thrashes, kicks, claws--anything to get away. Her efforts go to waste as her body slowly starts to shut down, the air in her lungs quickly being replaced by sea water. Cally is vaguely aware of arms wrapping around her waist and behind her head before she loses consciousness, submerged in darkness. And so she is taken.
