Maha Asif is a Pakistani-Canadian internationally-acclaimed author who is returning to her homeland for the first time since she was 10. She's tasked with sorting out her parents' old belongings at her father's family home and told not to engage in any of the family drama her father's side loves to create.

Do what you're there to do and keep your head down. Smile and nod, be the perfect relative.

Seems simple enough.

Except that her father's side seems to be a bit too excited about her arrival, the guy who helped her at the airport is a family friend, and some family wounds run deeper than she originally thought.

Adam Shah is a Pashtun-Canadian lawyer. Work has been hectic and he's looking forward to a relaxing vacation with his family in Islamabad.

But it's not at all relaxing.

Everyone seems to be obsessed with him getting married, he keeps having to save people from thugs, and finds himself falling for the girl he helped at the airport.

Maybe Islamabad isn't the place for the best vacation after all.

But when Maha and Adam meet each other again under the beautiful Peshawar sky, some whispered dua'as do come true.
