They are mutant cats with super power abilities. They were created in a bunker facility through gene manipulation by scientists sponsored by the government. 

There's a dungeon hidden inside a relic arena of which location was inside the bunker where the mutant cats would be tested mentally and physically. There's also Drako, a supervillain who is after revenge and the destruction of The Cats Lab.
