"We can be just friends." Edward said nicely, sitting beside her in the sand.
"What makes you think I want to be your friend?" Kim asked, her lips twisted mockingly.
"Well, I'm pretty likeable once you get to know me." He stared at her profile but she never met his gaze.
"Well, I don't want to get to know you. And I don't even want to be here."

It was an agreement meant to last two years, one with no emotions, nor attachments. The plan is perfect and well-calculated, he is sure he can pull it off. He is sure, more than anything, that Kimberly Cross is the best woman for the job.
But when living together creeps into the contracts, and with a woman like Kimberly, comes drifting and distractions - newfound sizzling passion and sexual tension ripening between them. Something else creeps in too; they can see other people. Edward might just run mad loosing his wife to somebody deserving of her.

Someone might say it's funny how walking in at the wrong time can change everything like the blink of an eye. But to Kimberly Cross, it wasn't funny. It hurt.
A cross of glances was all it took to be mesmerized by a stranger. Things may never work out so far she says "yes" to the sudden 'marry my son' proposal.
"Listen to your heart," you say. Whenever she did, all she could see was breaching of agreements and the broken heart of a dearly beloved daughter, by her own parents.
