It takes only one call for Manchester City's own goalkeeper, Louise McKay, to know she has lost her one true anchor. With the deaths of both her parents, she has to find a way to get through life.
For this story, let's assume that Leah Williamson is twenty-one years old. Otherwise, the age gap could be tricky.
Also, because we live in my fiction world, relationships are always legal, no matter the age. Yeah, that's totally realistic...
And a last thing, the timing in the story may or may not line up perfectly, I can't even remember myself what happens at what time. Just roll with that too!

The past should never be repeated. It was a fact learned through history.
Leah Williamson had just closed out the summer of her life. She's been a young captain in charge of leading England to a European win, and she'd done just that. She was someone the nation adored.
Danielle Cruz used to be America's sweetheart. That was until she spent a year in rehab and six months in prison. She fell from grace and was now facing the consequences of her fall.
Dani was given a second chance by the United States head coach, but is still finding herself falling into old habits. Habits that were caused by a traumatic childhood and painful past.
Nervous and trying to find her footing, Dani is taken in by her old club, and has to adjust to the reintroduction she didn't expect. Afterall, she was trying to heal and clean herself up.
Questions began to make her spiral. Why wouldn't they help her? Why wouldn't the team that knew her so well try to understand her and who she was? Why wouldn't the one she loved hear her out and maybe even love her again?
But in all, the both of them were nervous to face a painful history. History they both loved; history they both wished never happened. History that lead straight back to her.
