I have lived a very careful life. I planned. I made checklists that I doubled checked. I organized. I have never done a non careful thing in my entire life. I stayed at a job that I was bored in. I stayed in a relationship that had no love. While my father was in the hospital, dying of cancer, he made me promise him something, and that something was for me to stop being careful. The day after his funeral, I quit my job without notice. I ended my relationship without trying to save it. I left town and started looking for fun and found myself standing at the front door of a motorcycle club in a small town in South Carolina and getting fired on my first day. Juliana didn't expect to get cheated on after four years. She didn't expect to break down in her car, crying into her hands outside a gas station. And she definitely didn't expect a stranger on a motorcycle to pull up beside her and care. He didn't say much. Just bought her tissues and a chocolate bar, paid without asking, and left before she could thank him properly. Helmet on. Name unknown. Gone like smoke in the cold night air. Weeks later, she's in a club with her best friends, heels too high, dress too tight, pretending she's fine. She glances up-and there he is. The man from that night. Still watching from the shadows. Still not saying a word. But when she tries to pay for her drinks, she finds out he already did. She doesn't know his name or that he is in fact the same guy from the gas station. He doesn't know she's about to change everything. A slow-burn biker romance full of silent stares, messy healing, and the kind of tension that starts with a glance... and ends with a storm.
