I have lived a very careful life. I planned. I made checklists that I doubled checked. I organized. I have never done a non careful thing in my entire life. I stayed at a job that I was bored in. I stayed in a relationship that had no love.
While my father was in the hospital, dying of cancer, he made me promise him something, and that something was for me to stop being careful.
The day after his funeral, I quit my job without notice. I ended my relationship without trying to save it.
I left town and started looking for fun and found myself standing at the front door of a motorcycle club in a small town in South Carolina and getting fired on my first day.
