After The Rumbling, in Eren's dying moments after kissing Mikasa he is Taken to an 'afterlife' he wasn't prepared for, where a Deity gives him another chance at a better life knowing that his past one has been complete. Flung into a world filled with Darkness and Hatred, Eren must overcome his own demons and adapt to this new Environment if he wants to see his next life through.
