Peripheral Arterial Disease

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a condition that affects the blood vessels outside of the heart and brain, most commonly in the legs. It is caused by a buildup of plaque, or fatty deposits, in the arteries that supply blood to the legs and feet. This buildup can cause the arteries to become narrow and stiff, which can reduce blood flow to the affected areas.
