Livianna is afraid no one will ever love her for who she is. She finds herself trying to remember that she is important, even though it's almost a lost cause. Her whole life she's been told she is a disappointment, a failure. Her mother left when she was about six years old and hasn't come in contact with her daughter since. Livianna was left with her father, a man that only finds happiness in slight moments, usually involving alcohol. He decided Liv needed someone else to boss her around so he married a woman name Carol. A woman that had two other children already, and proceeded to have five more in her seven years married to Livianna's father. They continue to make Livianna's life impossible for her to be happy, no matter how positive she tries to be.

Jakub Mikeal Miller is the boy every mother wants to have, and every man a girl wants. The dark haired, brown eyed, sly smiled, tan skinned all around good boy. Jakub goes to church every Sunday with his family, volunteers for any environmental thing he can, takes care of his little sisters, and is the nicest boy you'll ever meet. He was already top of the charts 'popular boy' by his sophomore year. He plays two varsity sports, plays three instruments, is in student government, big brother big sisters, he is a student leader at his school, has stellar grades, and he has even performed in some of the school plays. But he has a secret, a secret that could very well get him banned from all of these activities. A secret that consumes him, a secret that keeps him up at night. Something so evil he even thinks his mother would not love him anymore if she found out.
