Dorothy Maldonado, sister to Joyce Byers, escaped Hawkins Indiana when she was young. She ran away to New York, a big city full of choices and mistakes.

But a phone call on 6th November 1983 from her sister sends her straight back into her hometown, and her daughter meeting family members for the first time.

Her nephews disappearence consumes her as she tries to help her sister and she also finds something unexpected along the way.
