Fresh out of the Melviran conquest, Urdin the Pathfinder would very soon have to deal with quite a few storms blowing his way: Queen Mirani's wrath for the losses of old; the long-unheeded issue of a bastard; and the imminent showdown against the Black Hand, to name some of the most immediate.

Like they weren't complex enough already, in the eastern city that Urdin had so recently subjugated--now rechristened as 'Ardis'--sedition was already bubbling.
