Aislin Aw-len found herself transported to the 16th century in the Mountains of Cordillera.

The mountains hold treasures untold, guarded by both nature and the spirits that dwell within them.

The mountains are alive with an untouched beauty, vast expanses of lush green valleys and meandering rivers that sparkle under the golden sunlight.

But amid this natural splendor, Aislin quickly realizes that the 16th century is a tumultuous time.

Indigenous tribes dot the landscape, their vibrant cultures and traditions flourishing amidst the harsh terrain.

Warriors clad in "wanes" roam the mountains, their eyes filled with both curiosity and wariness, a fierce determination to protect their land from the encroaching forces of colonization.

What awaits her in this undiscovered Mountains of Cordillera?

Book 1 of the Love and Duty Series Anirudh Roy, the steadfast and disciplined army officer, had always lived by a set of principles, none of which involved love. His life revolved around duty, honor, and the pursuit of his ambitions. Marriage, children, and emotional entanglements were unnecessary distractions in his eyes-until he met Dhairya Sharma. Dhairya was everything Anirudh thought he could easily overlook: an average girl with humble dreams, working a simple job and striving to carve a career for herself. She had left her hometown, filled with determination, to build a new life in New Delhi. Love was never on her agenda either. She was driven by her ambitions, not romantic fantasies. Yet, the moment they met, something shifted. Anirudh felt an undeniable attraction-one that grew into something deeper and more profound. It was as if all his carefully laid plans unraveled, his walls crumbling down piece by piece as he fell in love with Dhairya. She, too, found herself surrendering to emotions she hadn't anticipated, breaking her own resolve. But life had other plans for them. Their love story, unlike the fairytales, wasn't destined to have a smooth path. Years after their fateful meeting, something catastrophic happened-an event so shattering that it left Anirudh in pieces, unable to comprehend how his life could spiral so far from the strength and control he once held dear. The question that remains is not merely what devastated them but why Anirudh, who never believed in love, found himself so consumed by it that even in his brokenness, every breath he took was still devoted to her. His journey, from an unyielding soldier to a man completely undone by love, reflects the inexplicable power that Dhairya had over his heart, a love that he could never let go, no matter the cost. "You?" She yells. "You feisty cat, look what have you done? You have teeth or cutters?" "And what the hell did you just do? You scared the hell out of me." She announces. "Because that stupid tongue of yours wasn't letting me act humanely towards you so I need to do that." He grabs her hand and drags her along with him, towards his car. "What do you think you are doing? Leave me." "Get inside the car quickly, " he orders. "I won't. What do you want from me?" "Answers. If you think I will let you go without having the answer to why you ignored me then that won't happen. Now get inside," he says in a low voice, completely opposite of me. "And do you think I will go with you? Never." I remove his hand from my wrist and rushes back but he again grabs my arm. "You jerk! I will shout and tell people you are kidnapping me," I try to punch his chest. He chuckles. "You will say your husband is kidnapping you? Wow!" This time, he succeeds in making her sit inside the car. "Tie the seatbelt, girl." "Unlock the car right now," she stressed in every word. "You are so stubborn," he sighs and bends towards me. As soon as he comes closer to me, I drag myself away from him, barely making myself stick to the door. He looks into my face as his hand grabs the seatbelt and pulls it in front of my body. He leans near to my face, his eyes never leaving mine, "but I can't help. I love this stubbornness of yours." 🌺Do read the sequel of Entangled Love "Far Away Love" on my profile. 💮 Featured in newlywrittenbooks' Roses are Red | Romance reading list. 💮 Featured in Rainbow Salt's | Best Ongoing Stories reading list. 💮 Featured in Wattpad General Fiction Finding Love | Romance reading list. 💮 Featured in Wattpad Romance | Featured Books reading list. 💮Featured in Wattpad Community Team | Romance reading list. 💮Featured in Wattpad Romance | Head Over Heels reading list. 💮 Featured in Wattpad free the POC. Featured by @Romance .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. "Why do you make these paper flowers?" He asked, looking at her through the mirror. "They don't wither like the real ones." She replied, aligning the entire bunch of paper flowers. "But they don't have the fragrance." He politely challenged her. He was a soldier. Chivalrous was his middle name. "These paper flowers, they stay with you for as long as you want. You don't really have to throw them away like people discard the real ones. They pluck them for the fragrance and colors. But once that fades, they throw it away." She said, finally looking up at him. "Not everyone!" He added almost immediately, taking one more step forward. It could be his height or his longer stride, or maybe the room was too small as it only took him two steps to reach her. "Yeah! Of course! Exceptions are there, like poets and people in love." She walked in a different direction, putting those flowers on the table. He rolled his eyes with a defeated sigh. She was a teacher. Arguing with her was as futile as making a sand castle on a seashore. "You know, gone is the era when people used to preserve the flowers of their loved ones. We don't have people like that anymore!" She said as she faced him. "We don't have that kind of love anymore." He said looking straight into her eyes. She held his gaze through the mirror for a while, trying to read through him. "I agree." Murmuring under her breath, she turned around. Taking a deep breath, watching her retreating figure, he brought out his favorite poetry book from the shelf. After he was sure she was not looking, he ruffled through the pages till he found a dried Hibiscus. The very same one which had fallen from her bag when he first saw her. With a small smile, he cautiously caressed the petals. He closed the book with a fond sigh and found her looking at him. She couldn't hold his gaze for long and looked down, crimson covering her cheeks. He shook his head with a chuckle.
