In the heart of the ancient forest, where sunlight danced through the leaves and shadows whispered secrets, a powerful sorceress stood sentinel. She was a guardian, gifted with the ability to protect all that thrived in this realm. Yet, beneath her formidable power lay a heart heavy with betrayal. Memories of those who had broken her trust haunted her-faces once beloved, now mere ghosts in her mind.

After the last betrayal, she sought solace within the embrace of her forest, its serenity a balm for her wounds. But peace is a fragile thing. Rumors of a dark wizard spread like wildfire, his presence a malignant shadow creeping ever closer, drawing upon the magic of the very trees that sheltered her.

The day came when the air crackled with tension, and the sky darkened, mirroring the sorceress's turmoil. The dark wizard emerged, an old acquaintance whose betrayal had ripped through her soul. They faced each other amidst a clearing, a storm of emotions brewing in the space between them.

"Do you not remember me?" his voice was both familiar and foreign, laced with a taunting edge. She could feel the memories flicker at the edges of her mind, just out of reach.

*His eyes were the first thing I noticed as he looked up at me. Such a dark blue they reminded me of sapphires. My heart jumped at the feel of them as he held my gaze. I was in a trance unable to look away and it was as if he could see into the very soul that gave my body life. My skin crawled with goosebumps as his eyes changed from curious to predatory in a matter of moments. A shudder passing through me as my heart beat faster. He could see me. Like really see me and I cringed at the gut wrenching fear that ran through me, watching as his tongue ran smoothly over his lips. He looked like a predator about to hunt his prey. Me being that prey. His grin was intimidating as he spoke to the boy next to him and began to come my way.* Lacey Yasmine just moved to the small town of Moonlight Creek with her aunt seeking new lives in a place where they could start over. A place where their demons would be safely locked away behind the barrier. A place where they wouldn't dare to follow. Moonlight Creek was where the largest pack lived and this is where her secret would be the safest, where she would be the safest. Right here in the heart of the wolves den. Lacey could feel it like she felt everything. Until unforeseen situations take place and the life she worked so hard to rebuild begins to crumble changing for all time. Change was good. Welcomed even. But this time she had everything to lose. By birthright, and with the essence of her very being, she can only hope for the strength to stand tall and proud when the time came to reveal her secret and that the wolves would listen.

In a dystopian world, where the strongest prevails, having peace is a luxury. Especially when someone from the past is out to destroy everything we have built up over the past 15 years. And with Christmas approaching, our group get to face ten hellish days. Preview: In his fury, the chains have rubbed his wrists and neck raw, despite me trying to calm him down. He suddenly calms down when the screams in the cell next to us switch to the sound of bones breaking. Now he sits with foam on his lips and his eyes wide, looking that way. After ten minutes, the sounds of the boys in our cell have died down, and we all look at the wall that separates us from the crackling of the breaking bones. And then suddenly all is quiet. After a few silent minutes, our cell door opens slowly. From the ball of light from the ceiling, the little girl in the doorway is illuminated. She is completely covered in blood and doesn't move. Then she opens her eyes and carefully walks towards us. And despite everything, my first impulse is to crawl backwards, away from the unnatural calm radiating from her. ------------- After reading yet another great older brothers/younger sister story, where the family gets reunited after years of separation, the sister keeps the secret that she was abused and assaulted all along, and the brothers conceal their work in the mafia, I decided to give it also a try. The output of my story was initially to turn this around with openness and unconditional support and the torture should happen right in front of their very eyes. Because no story is complete without the (un)necessary bloodshed, action, humour and, of course, a bad guy. And who knows, to throw everything completely upside down, the main character may not survive. I won't write warnings above each chapter, because most of them contain violence, blood, torture, etc. Constructive criticism is welcome. Ow, and English is not my first, second or third language. So if I mess up somewhere, let me know!

Uelhara's tale begins in the heart of the Whispering Woods, an ancient and enigmatic forest where the veil between worlds is at its thinnest. Born to a lineage of elven guardians who protected the woods from the encroaching darkness, she was the youngest of three siblings. Her mother, an accomplished druid, taught her the sacred ways of the forest, while her father, a renowned wizard, introduced her to the arcane. As she grew, Uelhara's innate magical abilities surpassed those of her family, and she found herself drawn to the darker, more volatile aspects of her craft. Against her parents' wishes, she delved into the study of shadow magic, finding solace in its seductive embrace. Her thirst for knowledge led her to discover a hidden tome within the ruins of an ancient elven city, buried deep within the forest's heart. This grimoire, bound in the skin of a long-forgotten creature, contained spells and incantations that had been lost to time. Consumed by the power within its pages, Uelhara became a sorceress of unparalleled might. Her newfound power, however, came at a cost: she was exiled from her home and family for consorting with the very forces they had dedicated their lives to combat. For centuries, Uelhara roamed the lands, seeking to understand and master the shadowy arts she had embraced. She encountered beings of myth and legend, forged alliances with the unsavory, and battled the forces that sought to destroy her. Through her travels, she grew to appreciate the delicate balance of light and dark, and her heart softened to the plight of those who suffered at the hands of the unchecked powerful. She now wields her sorcery not just for power, but to protect the innocent and bring equilibrium to the world she once thought she could control.

Lucy, like all the other children, frequents the Spirit School, where children are taught to control their inner spiritual energy. Each person is able to form a bond with a single spirit. However, there are certain spirits that never approach humans, are known as man-eaters and have marked severe borders on their territory, eating anyone who trespasses on them. Such is the clan of the tailed foxes - the Huli. Lucy has already reached 15 years, so she goes together with her classmates to the Spirit Forest to befriend a spirit and bond with them. However, while sitting around a bonfire and listening to her classmates' scary stories, she remembers the dreadful day of how her house caught fire in past and, worked up, she rushes off into the depths of the forest to cry off her anguish.
