The story took places about a few years after the nine-tails rampage, even though the nine-tailed fox was captured successfully by a masked man who claimed to be Madara and sealed it within the Gedo Statue. Naruto is now a new jinchuuriki of the legendary white fox, and he begins to prepare his new journey by leaving the Hidden Leaf Village to go on his secret solo training and plans to rebuild the now-extinct Uzumaki clan.
