Knox has been trained and altered to be perfect his whole life. He spent most of his childhood in a facility doing just that, getting physical and mental alterations until he was deemed perfect enough to live with his parents.
In Cape Alexandria, a gated community by the ocean drowning in wealth, perfection, and beauty, everyone has to be flawless.
Now, at age eighteen, Knox lives a life full of perfection, wealth, glory, good looks, and talent.
Even though Knox has all of these wonderful worldly things, he feels like something is off. His mind starts to wander to things it shouldn't.
Knox starts to wonder what perfection really is and also becomes curious about imperfection. Why was it forbidden to be imperfect in Cape Alexandria? Could it be something dangerous?
Then there is Felicity. As a seventeen-year-old with red hair, pale skin, freckles, a skinny body, a flat chest, and a blunt personality, she is far from perfect. Living a quiet, isolated life after her mother's sudden death, her father, a stern, busy lawyer, forces her to move away with her aunt and uncle to a place called "Cape Alexandria" to connect more and have a better home life.
There, she meets her crazy, eccentric aunt and uncle for the first time, who have wealth beyond what she has ever seen.
Then, things get even more strange.
The moment she enters the town, she notices something is off with not only the people but also the whole community and its extravagant wealth. She is taken to a gate where men with large guns and strange symbolic tattoos greet her, then brought into a whole different world full of secrets and money.
What will happen when Knox meets Felicity and sees imperfection for the first time in his life? Will they become friends or more than that? Will they start to wonder and seek out why Cape Alexandria is the way it is? What secrets lie behind the so-called "perfect society" that Knox has always lived in, and who controls the strange dynamic that the town holds?
