Waiting For Ships
Taking inspiration from the languid atmospherics of Andre Aciman's CALL ME BY YOUR NAME and the multiple perspectives of Taylor Swift's FOLKLORE. Two teenagers collide in this dual-perspective story that spans the eventful summer of 2016. Romance, friendship, and the battle against childhood wounds leave their mark in this tale of human connection and the forging of identity. Will Joe and Billie be able to hold on to what they've found, or will innocence be lost when they discover that love is far more complicated than they ever knew? In the summer of 2016, two teens come together in an explosive love affair that alters the course of their lives. When Billie and Joe meet at his summer party, something in the atmosphere shifts. Under the hot sun in their seaside town, they spend the next two weeks in bliss, holding on to what most people never touch in a lifetime. But when Joe is faced with an impossible choice, they may discover there is a darkness to love they never dreamed of. Told from alternating perspectives, the story of their love affair explores the complexities of love, life, and the moment we come of age, the world forever changed by the loss of innocence. They say there are two sides to every story. Who says both of them can't be true?Complete

Lacey
James Hill is an ordinary 20-something Yalie. While incredibly book smart, he has to work two jobs during the summer and maintain his Internet presence to earn enough money for surviving. Well-known in both online writing and video creation communities, his reputation has been somewhat tainted by various incidents - from his own arrogance to a messy set of affairs involving a pair of rivals named Augusta and Betty. Still, James has been getting by relatively well. Then Lacy comes in. Lacy has a crush on James. She is also everything he hates. She's spirited and eclectic and unfiltered. She wants to make it somewhere in content creation - whether that's in music or writing. And she won't change who she is at heart just to fit in with her publication mutuals. Thus, James seizes this opportunity to sabotage Lacy's prospects. But it won't be all fun and games... (While there are unreliable tabloid rumors about the identity of Olivia Rodrigo's Lacy, my story is not intended to replicate true events - be they those of her or me. My story is also only very loosely inspired by Taylor Swift's Folklore love triangle and the former, so do not expect a lot of similarities).Complete
