Danukil was once ruled by four clans, until the day one destroyed another. Hundreds of years have passed, and memory of the lost clan Running Song has disappeared. The destroyer has taken over the land, and the other two remaining live in fear. 
Shade has lived in a village cut off from the world her whole life. When it is hit by plague, she is forced to leave and see if any others exist.
Will is an outcast and is hunted by his clan for something he couldn't do. His life takes another turn when he meets a girl, a lone survivor of sickness.
Both have been having strange dreams, and they aren't alone. Soon the chosen will come together and remake Running Song.

Her birth that day was one that was loathed by most Kantans, but with impending doom looming the gods may not have a choice, but to trust the very thing that devastated them.
