A long time ago, Shiloh Gray served as a personal butler for the young Lord Aaron Dawson. The young master had always admired how, such a young boy similar of age to him, could be such a remarkable butler. It came to a point, that Aaron would call him to do such ridiculous thing to test him. Shiloh had done everything he asked to a remarkable extent. Aaron noticed his features were always serious, seemingly never surprised. One day, Aaron called him up for one more thing. He asked Shiloh, to kill him. And, for the very first time (that Aaron could tell), he was surprised. He said to his master, "I'm afraid I can't do that." "But you serve only me," young Aaron had replied. "If you can't kill me, then you may go." The look on Young Shiloh's face made Young Aaron want to cry, so he turned his head. Eventually, Shiloh turned to a serious tone, as he stood up and, with a great bow, said "Yes, my Lord" and left.
A few years later, when present day Lord Aaron Dawson turned 18, he was finally free to leave the castle. He only had one thought on his mind... find someone that he couldn't remember the name of. He thought, surly, he should recognize him. The day Aaron set out, the day destruction came.
And, what's Shiloh been doing?
"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face.
She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?"
He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me."
Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much."
"What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?"
She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion."
He let out a relieved laugh and pulled her into his chest again. "What a relief. I was worried it was just me." He nuzzled her temple, inhaling deeply, his dragon fully at peace. The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer. "I'm fond of you, too," he whispered in her ear.
