A promise was made, a promise they would drag along with them everywhere, a promise that tangled them together, a promise they were willing to keep and cherish.

Their time together felt like an old dream that would slowly disappear as time passed.
What had been their winter days had faded like they had never happened in the first place, as if they were just erased in hope of finding a better future. It had been long lasting memories, but now that they were gone all that was left was the bittersweetness of a lost love and the lingering ache of an unfulfilled promise.

"I was trying to stop you from embarrassing yourself," he said quietly. "But you-" He ran a hand through his hair, frustration showing in his voice. "You always have to fight back. Always need to prove something." Meher looked at him, her eyes wide with disbelief. "You think I was trying to prove something? Do you hear yourself? Jin, I was just trying to live." Her voice cracked. "I was just trying to be me." Jin clenched his jaw. Why was this so hard? "Then maybe you should stop expecting everyone to get you," he said, his tone sharper than he meant. "Not everyone has to like you, Meher." She sucked in a breath, pain flashing across her face before she quickly hid it. "And what about you? You've made it clear that you don't like me either." Jin opened his mouth, then shut it. He should just say yes and end it here. That would be the smart thing to do. But he didn't. Because the truth was-he didn't hate her. He hated the way she made him feel. The way she made him see things he didn't want to deal with. The way she pushed him to face his own truth. He wanted to say it, but his pride held him back. So instead, he let out a hard breath and changed the subject. "Get up and come to the car. We have to go home." Meher gave a dry, cold laugh and shook her head. "See? You can't even deny it." Two strangers living their lives in two different ways and cultures, solving their lives as a puzzle with a feeling of missing something. Suddenly they come across each other bounded by fate yet divided by misunderstandings. As their hearts clash and collide, love weaves itself between resentment and longing. But when past wounds and hidden truths threaten to tear them apart, will they find their missing piece-or lose each other forever?"

A light breeze set the branches above in motion, a rustling sound filling the ambience. Silence prevailed. A prominent sight of departure, yet bearing the promises of a faithful return. That's how it works, doesn't it? Good times following bad ones and ill hours trudging behind the blissful moments. But for him, that wasn't the occurrence. As there were no promises of happy hours, neither of revival and nor of a return. The change had already happened. And unfortunately, it was permanent. .・゜゜・ [A SEONGJOONG FANFICTION]
