Angels Like You

Rhys Snyder emerges from the turbulent world of a fractured family. Raised by a hardworking single mother, he has shouldered the responsibility of caring for eight younger siblings, whom his mother adopted when her distant family left them orphaned. His teenage years were marked by a dangerous mix of rebellious behavior, partying, and therapy sessions to address his troubles.

His life takes a dramatic turn when a brush with the law forces his mother to make a tough decision - sending Rhys to live with his estranged father, someone he vowed to have no association with since he abandoned Rhys when Rhys was just three years old.

Rhys, grappling with a history of violence and substance abuse, finds an unexpected ally in Toby Moz on his first day at the new school. Toby pulls Rhys back into the dangerous world of substance abuse. Their relationship unfolds as a reckless journey full of violence, drug dependency, and sporadic attempts at recovery.

As Rhys navigates the emotions he faces in his new life, he must learn how to live with his father. Used to being the caretaker for his adopted siblings, Rhys finds himself unprepared for a life where rules are enforced, both at home and in school. His resistance to authority becomes a consequence of his struggle to learn who he is without caring for others. Caught in a dark mentality, Rhys is faced with the choice between changing for the better or sinking further into the darkness he has created.
