While investigating a gang related murder in London's rough streets, veteran cop DCI Michael Harvey is shot after stumbling across something much bigger. Ten months later, he finds himself planted in the NYPD's homicide department as a cover for his investigation into a global weapon smuggling ring.

Rookie Detective Victoria Petras finds her life completely thrown out of balance when she is suddenly taken from her comfy position working Cyber Crime and pushed to the front working Homicide. She finds herself partnered with the gruff Brit DCI Harvey as they both try to learn the ropes while investigating the shooting of a courier in an alleyway.

As they sift through a mire of Sex, Theft, and Deceit, it's up to this unlikely duo to crack the case and prove their worth.

This is the first episode of Petras and Harvey, a series of short crime thrillers with recurrent themes running through multiple books, just like your favorite crime drama (whichever one that is.)
