Sophie Foster and Keefe Sencen, two young elves from the Lost Cities, have been secretly dating for months. Their love has blossomed amidst the chaos and danger they face as members of the elite group, the Black Swan. However, their lives take an unexpected turn when Sophie discovers that she is pregnant.

Knowing the consequences of revealing their relationship and the fact that they are expecting a child, Sophie and Keefe decide to keep their pregnancy a secret. They understand that the Council of the Lost Cities would not approve of their relationship, as they are both still considered too young to be involved romantically.
