Dark Baphomet: A Vampire Romance

Black and Red have been Nightwalkers for longer than they care to count, and that alone is unusual enough to attract unwanted attention.
Life and survival in the Blue Light District is a far cry from easy, but the small population of damphyres in York are usually safe to live their lives without harassment.
That is, until M. Garthelle, overlord of York, makes an agreement with Alpha Circle to have an embassy in the city. Complete with a restaurant serving *vamp* clientele. And what's on the Alpha Circle's menu? You guessed it. Those damphyres are a high-end delicacy that Alpha vamps pay top dollar to drain to the dregs.
M. Garthelle is also quite curious as to why Black and Red are such successful Nightwalkers. It turns out the little sleight-of-hand trick they've mastered has caught up with them -- theft from a vamp is a death sentence.
But M. Garthelle wants something from them, instead. And being a member of Modere Circle, they abhor the idea of executing a death sentence on both of them. At least that's what Black thought their motive was? When a vamp turns up drain-dead at M. Garthelle's little weekend soiree, the ruling vamp of York metro divulges their ulterior motives.
Maybe the death sentence wasn't so bad of an option after all.
