Haruna's lived in New York up until she was 14, but due to her father getting a new job offer they had to move to the Addison Apartments and everything changed sense the move Haruna became more self aware about her blind right eye and scar across her face left behind by her old bully Travis Phelps. That's not what really happened but Haruna's led herself to believe that's what happened. but he moved away when she was 11. Her mother and father fought a lot more sense the move. But everything changed because
of him.
and her unawareness that Travis was just about to return to her life.

Kenneth Phelps is the lead priest at the local church and has strict rules for his family. This leads to his son Travis Phelps to hate his whole being. His problems with his father are bad but he gets to escape at school being the one who pushes people around. Until he meets Sal Fisher or "sally face" a boy with a mask who Travis often fantasizes about despite thinking it's a sin. Due to his love hate for Sal he bullies him and his friends. But Travis and sal get to know each other better and Travis might find someone who is worth sinning for. Sal fisher or "sally face" just moved to the Addison apartments over the summer. He met Larry Johnson his now best friend who introduced him to all his friend's. When school started everything was going smoothly until Travis Phelps the local priests son started bully Sal and his friend's calling them homos and an array of awful things.
