The place we call Earth no longer exists, at least not in the way it once had. Although it doesn't appear that way to the general population, two people known as Runners, Jeremy Liddell and Monica Fancy, fight these terrifying creatures for the protection of humanity. Everything changes with Lindsey Martin; test subject of a mad scientist and the alleged success. He's not your average human. Hell, he's hardly human at all.  Who did this? Why Lindsey? Lindsey has to learn to control his abilities because if he doesn't he would be playing right into the mad scientist's plan to dominate the world.
