The year is 1792, revolution is sweeping through France, turning what everyone thought was the 'Natural Order' on its head.  After years of economic hardship, the commoners have had enough of the excesses of the ruling classes and want to bring about change - in blood if they have to.

In the midst of all this turmoil, Mélanie Linville, eldest child of the noble family that governs the city of Lyon, has other things to worry about.  A vampire messiah is rising to power and threatening to devour the sun.
