Remember all of the tropes where the villain kidnaps the love interest and the love interest refuses to comply and won't go out with out a fight? Has to be broken and worn down before the villain can take them.
What if this time, the villain doesn't get the love interest, but the most needed member on the heros team. This time they comply to the villains demands and is already broken enough to not care. What if no one comes to save them?
