Harper Alexandra Steele, accepts a challenge from Strauss to join the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) after Elle Greenaway's departure. Unbeknownst to Strauss, Harper and Aaron have a shared history-they were once stark competitors during their time at the Academy. Haunted by the unresolved tension, Harper now finds herself back at the BAU, pursuing her career aspirations and unraveling the mystery of her parents' death. Her parents perished under suspicious circumstances when she was 16, officially labeled as a robbery gone wrong. However, Harper harbors suspicions, aware of the tumultuous relationships and frequent fights that plagued her family. She's driven by a relentless pursuit of answers, using her work to cope, honor her family's legacy, and seek achievement.

As Harper delves into solving cases and confronting her past, she inadvertently becomes entangled in Strauss's secret agenda. Unaware of Harper and Aaron's history, Strauss unwittingly brings Harper into the fold to spy on Aaron. Now, Harper must navigate the complexities of her dual mission-uncover the truth about her parents' death and contend with the tumultuous history she shares with Aaron, who is now her colleague.
