This is the story of 15 year old Bailey Pearson. Life isn't going to well for Bailey, what with an alcoholic mother, a non-existent father and "class mates" that wish she was never born, but she has a plan. All she has to do is survive her last year of school then she can put everything behind her, but when a school trip changes things and a mysterious man shows up in town telling her she can make history will anything work out like she planned? Or will things end up even worse?

"I walk down the school hallway, "don't make eye contact" I keep repeating in my head. The sweet smell of cologne and perfume fills the halls. I keep walking trying not to get noticed. I see the doors of the school getting closer and closer. I speed up trying to make it in time. Zoey is running out of time and she thinks no one has tried to help her until her "special" speech in class. No one really cares about what she really thinks anyway. It just that feeling of pity. Everyone thinks she really is sick but she knows she's not. But what if she is? Maybe all it takes is that one thing to make her snap. As her life gets thrown into chaos and deep dark secrets she can't help but try to figure out the truth.
