Sonic learns that Silver is not doing so well after the adventure with the Ifrit. But helping someone is hard, when that person is stubborn, and withdrawn, and doesn't want to accept he needs help in the first place, and also is still vehemently convinced he doesn't like anyone from the past anyway.
Luckily Sonic's got some tricks up his sleeve to lend Silver a hand all the same.
