Reaching For The stars

Hi, I'm Gemma, Owner of GemmasJuteDesignsUK.

I have a long term Chronic illness, Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have had the illness from the age of 16, I am now 31.

I began my journey two years ago, struggling to pay my bills, a Stay at Home mother, to two young children, I was finding life somewhat challenging.
I have always been an artist, self taught.

I was surfing the net one day, when I noticed that people were painting on Tote Bags..so I thought ''I'll give that a go''.. With my last available funds (£20.00) in the bank, I bought myself some paints, and some bags and. . . gave it a go!

I noticed that everyone was doing the same designs as one another, I like to be different, to stand out..so I came up with my own very unique design, my Trademark, The Big Eyes & Lashes, which everyone loves!

I'm looking to expand, and my business is now on Twitter, with over 40 Celebrity followers, to include a few, are Towie's Chloe Sims, American Actress Aviva Drescher, Reality TV Star Farrah Abraham, Hollyoaks Actress Sophie Austin.

I do many designs, Including Children's Portraits, Children's favourite Characters, plus my own unique design.

Last year, in just the space of two months, I sold over 240+ Jute Bags, all are solely Hand Painted by myself.

My office is my Dining room at the moment! I love my job, creating Personalised, Bespoke, Unique products for my customers, to know that I have made hundreds of little lady's happy, is so worthwhile.

I want more for my family & I won't stop until I reach the top. It's not in my nature to give up on anything. I am undergoing Chemotherapy Treatment for my Illness, still, I work, focus, and I'm putting everything that I can in to growing my business, as I believe there is a place on the Market, for a Fresh new Take on the Jute/Tote Bag.
