Soul Riders: Learning to live again

Fifteen year old Valerie Mccraith has never believed that there is anything special or interesting about her, well if you don't count the fact that her dad went missing when she was two and her mother left her to be raised by her maternal grandmother when she was eight. Then again thousands of kids grow up without their parents, she's not the first and won't be the last.

Though if you ask anyone else who truly knows her, Valerie's a clever, kind , witty, introverted, artistic, stubborn as all get out kind of girl, with a special gift when it comes to dealing with horses. Or at least she was....until the accident. It's been a year since the accident, she feels numb, empty, hollow, and won't go anywhere near horses anymore. It's like she's watching life pass her by, anyone can tell, while yes, Valerie is alive she isn't living.

That all changes when she's forced to pack up her belongings and move to Jorvik to live with her dad's family who are practically strangers to her. While there she meets a mysterious dark colored stallion, one she's been having dreams about for months now. While on Jorvik Valerie ends up befriending Lisa, Alex, Linda, and Anne. Under the guidance of mystical druids, they discover they each have a special bond to their horses that gives them magical powers, and for Valerie she has all four.

While trying to balance school, family, and friendships they have to figure out what it means to be a Soul Rider and what it means for Valerie being the reincarnation of Aideen herself. They are attacked by the Dark Riders and the mysterious Mr. Sands discover that their horses are in danger. Instead of relying on their combined strength, they decide to split up on their quest to find answers and learn to fight back against their enemies. However, will it be too late before they realize their mistake?

And maybe just maybe, even with all this chaos going on, Valerie will learn how to live again.
