Life on Mars can be tough, especially for a space jockey born in Cassani crater, orphaned with no prospects. But Kola Aurora is making do. When she's offered a lucrative transport job to Venus by an old friend, she's game - especially if it means getting her own ship out of the deal. However, things take a turn for the worse when they're immediately targeted by Commissaire Primrose Belcher, a no-nonsense Venusian cop with a nose for thievery and a distaste for Martians. Kola must make her escape before she's dragged into more than she can handle.

The year is 2889. Three hundred and thirteen years after fleeing a dying earth, the Universe Association has never been stronger. Eight colonized planets, an organized government, and one man at the head of it all are not expecting change. Still, change can spread like fire if sparked in the right place. Daisy Edelweiss, crown princess of Neptune, begins her first year at the Universe Association Academy. Life in a reconstructed Earthen city is as alien to her as her planet once was to Earth, and the invitations to join secret rebellion groups aren't helping. Not to mention the other royals in her class, some of whom can't get off their high horses, and some of whom have the nicest brown eyes... Artemisia McCourt, the youngest senator in training at UAA, must also adjust to life away from the blue planet. Her aptitudes for politics and writing land her a reputation among the Universe Association as either a tool or a weapon, depending on who gets to her first. Everyone's holding their breath for the Little Senator... Terra Solum, crown princess of Mars, is trying to decide whether to give up her crown to her diabolical younger brother, or keep the crown and be forever trapped in a life she doesn't want. A temporary arrangement is made, during which she is allowed to teach at UAA and keep her title while she decides which life she wants. The decision would be far easier without the former crown prince of Mercury and his perfect hair in her way... Royalty, rebellion, and romance collide in Something We Miss. "Ever since I took my first breath, my planet has been trying to kill me. Every day the sun rises, a harbinger of life and death. It powers our canopy beasts, cherished by my people, for which they would give both life and blood. A land of wolves: where government and criminals alike prey upon the defenseless. A land where predators stalk their victims in the heat of the day, and in the dead of night. This is Venus." Akur and Aluel, two Venusian nomads find ways to navigate the challenges of their new camp life in the Southern deserts of terraformed Venus. With their father mysteriously absent the two sisters, rely on their canopy beasts-mechanical marvels designed to harness the sun's energy and provide shade amidst the scorching sun. As days pass with no word from their father, and with no money to pay for their camp's upkeep, they struggle to survive amid the dangers of the treacherous human elements around them. And worse yet; summer is coming. Will the two sisters find the strength to survive the coming summer, or will they be just two more victims claimed by the Venusian sands?
