Amy Williams is just an ordinary girl who is trying to cope with the loss of her mother. She goes about daily life but isn't enjoying living it. Not even her brother, Jamie, and her stepdad, Alaric, know how miserable she is. She is the popular girl, the one everyone wants to be, except her. Her friends are trying to help, but they can't. No one can.
But her life was about to change forever. The arrival of the Salvatore brothers turns her world upside down. Stefan Salvatore, the new guy who everyone wants to know, sets his eyes on Amy straight away. Stefan stirs something inside Amy that she hasn't felt for a long time - happiness.
But little does Amy know that Stefan isn't the only Salvatore who has fallen for her. Damon Salvatore is the older brother that although is tall, dark and mysterious, seems to have a soft spot for Amy.
However there is something that the Salvatores are hiding. A secret that would change Mystic Falls forever. The Salvatores are dangerous. They are vampires.
