His eyes scanned the room, and then,

𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘩𝘦𝘳.

He was out of words as he watched her dance on the table, she was a bit uncoordinated, but she looked beautiful. He didn't know if it was the weed that filled the room and got to him, but his thoughts were sounding as loud as a hornets nest. Her beautiful hair kept flipping from side to side as her body moved to the rhythm of the music.

Her movements were so graceful, he couldn't peel his eyes away, he didn't want to stop her. He felt utterly ashamed of thinking those thoughts for a girl he just met. He can't talk to girls, especially girls as pretty as y/n.

But that's when he knew,

𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳.

Memories were fleeting shards of a fractured past, dulled by time and buried beneath pain. For Maeri, the only clarity was him - the man whose voice carried promises as sweet as they were suffocating. Seven hundred days beneath his unrelenting watch, each sunset trapped within walls that whispered horrors only she could hear - the echoes of a girl who could barely recall herself. Scars marred skin like ghostly confessions, while tears carved silent rivers of longing. Somewhere beyond the shadows lay a family long forgotten, a home that felt more like a dream. But even in despair, an ember of determination burned. Freedom would demand more than courage - confronting the darkness she had once called her world. A kiss always haunted resolve, a presence attached like her own shadow even in the vast unknown; a touch she yearned to feel, a voice she longed to hear. The chains he left behind were not so easily broken. His presence lingered in every step she took, the promises that felt more like a curse than salvation. Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

Book 1 in the Beneath series- Javan and Sarah's love story. It's a college-dark romance with lots of trigger warnings. In case you have trigger warnings I suggest you stay out of it, if not, I assure you gonna love it. excerpt to hook you: Sarah "Listen very carefully," his voice was low, husky, and deep, each word deliberate and laden with intensity. "Don't wait for me to say words like 'I love you,' 'I like you,' or 'Please be my girlfriend' and all that bullshit. I won't say those things!" I swallowed hard, licking my lips as I blinked, absorbing his words. "Those are just empty phrases. Love is an illusion, a facade we use to justify meaningless bullshit. But what will happen between us is something entirely different. What you will experience is real. I will show it to you, and you will take it because I want you. You don't have a choice in this because-" he breathed heavily, pulling me closer until our lips were nearly brushing, "-I'm obsessed. What I feel for you is an obsession, a craving, and I want more than just Sarah. I want everything that makes you, you. I want all of you!" In an instant, he pressed his lips against mine, claiming every breath I had been holding in. He pushed deeper as his tongue explored mine with a primal urgency. My mind spiraled into a trance, engulfed by his words, and the overwhelming nature of the moment was intoxicating. Was this even a confession? It felt like it was, yet I loved the way he articulated it. I fucking did. My heart raced, blood surged through my veins, and my entire world felt constricted to this singular point in time. I was under his command, entirely beneath him. And strangely, I was starting to revel in it. Javan was every mistake I knew I should stay away, every madness that was going to drown me but I was ready to drown in it.
