Auden has always ended up getting involved with the wrong people, and one of those involvements resulted in Antisepticeye hiring him to create Hug-Bot.
Auden and Hug-Bot have been struggling to find peace ever since, trying to find balance between bot's main objective to spread #PMA and help others, and the more nefarious secondary objectives that Antisepticeye demanded bot would have.

This journal is the prologue to the Hug-Bot story, and follows the first few years since bot's creation. The majority of the entries refer to events that happened to the characters during roleplay and are meant to summarize the characters' lives up until the beginning of the story, although later entries could happen chronically during the story.

Ein has always been known as a jerk to others. Always pulling pranks and acting like he's always right. Not everybody has ever really liked Ein, or even tried being his friend. Every time Ein thought he made a friend, they always were FAKE and started acting mean to him. Ein never truly had a family, or someone he could talk to. So he bottled up his feelings and became the way he is. But, nobody knows this... Ein and Pierce were dating, they would pull pranks together. It was a fun hobby for them to do as a couple. Of course, sometimes Pierce would apologize after, but Ein would always run away and laugh. Eventually, Pierce got tired of this behavior, and started to dislike pranking his friends. This caused a heated argument between the two, resulting in a breakup. The two became more and more distant with their friends noticing. For some reason, everyone went to Pierce's side when it got revealed they broke up. Ein still continued pranking the others, even starting to prank Pierce. Everyone couldn't believe Ein's behavior and disliked him even more. Maybe even hating him. They thought that he never really cared for him and Pierce's relationship and just thought of him as a buddy. But that wasn't the truth. One person got a feeling that Ein's actions were the cause of something else... Aphmau decided to install a mod on the server. It was a mod that showed how much someone cares for you. Ein took a guess on how everybody's percentage would be but wanted to try it out anyways. His feelings were hurt, and he didn't know how to cope with it. Until, he met the one person who saw through his facade... 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages.
