The story of a Kenyan girl whose life changes after learning a long-kept family secret that alters everything she believed to be true about her family and herself. 

She travels from Nairobi to her motherland following the death of her grandmother, only to discover that her grandmother and her family's lineage is special and that she comes from a long line of heroes who have protected her village and the world from evil threats for centuries. 

They are known as the Spectres, or ghosts, and are mentioned in many myths and legends. 

Imani will discover that with great power comes even greater danger as she embarks on a self-discovery journey to become the next Spectre and save the world.
