Kara Tilling is your typical teenager-well, more or less. Spending time with her fashionable best friend and her nerdy boyfriend are major parts of her day. Despite never knowing her mother, she manages to live a regular life as an only child with her eccentric father in their small household. Her life changes all at once, however, when a monster kidnaps her friend and disappears. During this chain of events, she meets a handsome fairy boy known as Shade, who's supposed to watch over her. He reveals a whole new world to her that she never knew existed, but when he vanishes, it's up to her to decide what she does next, with a little help from her friends and family. She experiences adventure, romance, and a little magic, and has to learn who to trust while an unknown evil lurks just beyond her reach.

39 parts Complete

Tressa is a hard-working village girl. Caspen is a well-trained assassin. Being two very different people from opposite sides of the country, neither of them would have ever thought that their lives would cross. That is, until Caspen gets assigned a mission to kidnap Tressa's little sister. As Caspen travels across the country of Arnaron with a nine year old, Tressa, with the help of her best friend, must leave the safety of her village in order to find them. But with a deadly disease spreading across the country, a race of fairies who despise humans threatening the country's peace, a corrupt prince getting ready to take the throne, and numerous threats endangering them, nobody is safe and Tressa and Caspen are forced to face their darkest fears and are left questioning everything they thought they knew about themselves and their pasts.
