Meanwhile, Palettepaw of Sunclan stays on top of his clanmates' hopes for his future. However, balancing it all leaves him with little time to consider what he wants for himself. But just what does he want out of life? To be locked into carrying a legacy of greatness? Or a little bit of freedom?

Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either.
