April Morris is a student athlete at Manhattan. She plays volleyball and basketball and watches her brother's friends play football. Her brother, Crutchy Morris, who lost his leg in a car accident at ten years old, is the biggest sweetheart everyone has met. That quality did not stretch to April. She's always testing the limits of everyone she ever meets. Maybe that's why she's drawn to the one person she shouldn't be. Spot Conlon.

Spot Conlon is a student athlete at Brooklyn. He plays football and basketball. Over the summer, he met this girl that instantly sparked something inside of him. But once school starts up, there's one problem. She goes to Manhattan and is best friends with Racetrack Higgins, Spot's biggest rival on the football field and the basketball court. Spot doesn't want to give up April, but what is he supposed to do when his entire team trusts him to lead them to victory against Manhattan, like he has for the past two years?

He is a pretty good leader for Brooklyn, his cane that he stole from Pulitzer and his slingshot are his main weapons. Being intimidating has always been his way to get people to do what he wants, but it doesn't work on Tempest, not one bit. As they meet, will these two powerful newsies clash? Race had seen Spot a few times and saw him during the strike, Race had fallen hard for this Brooklyn boy, but so many things could go wrong if Spot or anyone else found out about it. " Ace! Hotshot!" Spot yells. "Be ready by the time Jack Kelly gets here!" Spot yells again. To say the least Spot was nervous, he wasn't nervous of Jack, but he had heard rumors that Jack's second was coming with him. Spot new for a fact that Jack's second was Racetrack Higgins, the boy that Spot lets sell on his turf, the boy that he made laugh in the court room, the boy he had fallen in love with. Of course nobody can know about it, the things that they would do to Spot is the unthinkable. This is also kind of a musical, some of the Newsies will sing songs, some won't. I do not own any Newsie characters except Spike. I do not own any of the songs either. This is A sprace story if you haven't figured that out by now. I try to have two chapters in each week, might be more than that, might be less than that, just depends how my schedule's look. Some chapters are pretty short others are long. There's really no consistency with me. Hope you enjoy it!
