Max was like most other people, very nervous to go to high school, but he's best friend, Zoey, was very exited. Max had a secret that only Zoey knew, and it was important to Max that it stayed that way. Max gets picked on a lot, and he didn't know why until middle school, he is gay. He was told that when he goes to high school, he's going to get beat up. He was scared so much he started puking when August came along. The only friend he has is Zoey, other people don't like him. Regret, fatigue, anxiety, and never-ending self-pity, all of these have haunted him in his past 2 years and hampered his progress, but in this short trip with his friend helps him take his first steps in combating and adjusting towards those uncomfortable feelings and rekindles a passion that he has long lost.
