All Loki had wanted was love and recognition. Life at Asgard wasn't as grand as people supposed it would be for the second prince, shunned by everyone for his different temperament and always, always shadowed by his older brother. Except when one night, someone did notice him.
Asgard was not entirely a friendly place for an elvish halfling like Aerin. Shunned and mocked for hailing from a fallen kingdom, Aerin could only take it in silence, honing their magic and wit. Until one night, when they saw themselves reflected in another's eyes.
One who hides everything within to protect himself and one who hides nothing as a snarling challenge, but both just screaming and aching to be heard. A friendship blossoms, and as that friendship grows into something more, can it truly survive the cruel twists fate throws at them?
